| The
18' high monumental sculpture "Slicker
Shy" by Sculptor Herb
Mignery recently found a new home at the City Hall in Lewisville,
TX.
The sculpture previously resided in the main lobby of the Sheraton
Dallas Hotel (formerly the Adam's Mark Hotel). After a $90 million
renovation, however, the hotel owners decided to remove the sculpture
and find it a new home. Thus, the sculpture is now on loan from
the Sheraton Dallas to the City of Lewisville by consignment through
Sculptureworks.
Lewisville Mayor Dean Ueckert said that having a public art display
brings an added dimension to Lewisville’s downtown revitalization
project. “Most of the great downtowns in the United States,
and all over the world really, have some sort of public art,”
Ueckert said. “We’re very excited to be able to bring
this sculpture to Lewisville and encourage people to come down to
check it out and see what’s new in Old Town.”
The
"Slicker Shy" installation would not have been possible
without the following installation contributors: the Lewisville
Old Town Business Association, JC Commercial, and North Texas Crane.
The
City of Lewisville also held a dedication ceremony to recognize
the installation contributors and the Sheraton Dallas Hotel for
their generosity and hard work in bringing "Slicker Shy"
to Lewisville. Click here to
