The "Gator" sculpture is currently in the clay stage. It was created over a nine month period. Paul gained his extensive knowledge of the American alligator from research at museums, reptile centers, zoos, and wildlife parks in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. This included an experience of studying the animal “hands-on” in the “gator pit” at the Scotch Plains Zoo in New Jersey. Also, numerous kayaking field trips into the remote wilderness of Florida allowed study of the animal in its natural environment.
