| "Equus
Caballus x 3" (2001) is part of the permanent collection of
the Central Illinois Regional Airport (Bloomington, IL).
Kathryn Capley's suspended lifesize sculptures wonderfully compliment
contemporary architecture. The energy and animation of the work
pulls the viewer's eye and mind through the space, activating them
as the sculpture appears to respond to its environment. The suspended
works are easily installed and require minimal curatorial care.
Like Kathryn's other work, each piece is an original, hand-rendered
work in metal. The cable used in Kathryn's suspended work is 1/16",
500 lb. test, stainless steel aircraft cable. Each work weighs between
100 and 200 lbs.
