Sculptor
Blair Buswell's monumental bronze sculpture of basketball legend and
Hall of Famer "Big O" Oscar Robertson is on permanent display
at the University of Cincinnati.
The sculpture depicts Oscar Robertson as a college player at the University
of Cincinnati, where he scored and average of 33.8 points per game,
won the national scoring title three times, was an All-American, and
was named College Player of the Year. He led the University of Cincinnati
Bearcats to two Final Fours and a 79-9 record during his three varsity
seasons. Oscar Robertson went on to amass 26,710 points, 9,887 assists,
and 7,804 rebounds during his 14-year NBA career with the Cincinnati
Royals and the Milwaukee Bucks. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial
Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980. |
