Sculptor
Blair Buswell's monumental bronze sculpture of baseball legend Mickey
Mantle is located at the Southwestern Bell Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma
City, OK. The sculpture, unveiled on April 16, 1998, depicts Mickey
Mantle hitting one of his 50 home runs on his way to winning the Triple
Crown in 1956. Mickey Mantle was a native of Oklahoma.
The "Mickey Mantle" Monument is 7' 6" tall and would
measure 9' high if Mantle were standing straight. It was placed on
a 3' tall granite base, which lists Mantle's vast accomplishments,
in front of the third-base entrance to the Bricktown Ballpark Stadium. |
